The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation invites interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for helicopter operations aimed at enhancing national emergency services and supporting the tourism industry. This initiative includes establishing a helicopter-based air ambulance service for rapid medical responses, utilizing helicopters for Search & Rescue operations across all regions, and introducing commercial passenger transportation to promote tourism across the Maldives.The Ministry’s intention is to grant the successful respondent with 10 (ten) years exclusivity to conduct helicopter passenger transfer for tourism subject to the terms of the agreement to be entered post-selection.
The Ministry seeks operators who can demonstrate efficient Helicopter operations in the Maldives, with a particular emphasis on the unique challenges posed by island environments. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their EOIs to engage in this vital service provision.
Post the EOI phase, the Ministry will commence a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, exclusively involving parties that have submitted their EOIs. A detailed Bid Document will be made available to these parties, facilitating the preparation of proposals that are in alignment with the strategic goals of the Ministry. This approach ensures a targeted and effective collaboration with operators who have a demonstrated capability in delivering safe and efficient helicopter services.
